The foundation of this hospital traces back to 1985 when Haji M. Rafi, father of Prof. Dr. M. Salim Akhter, envisioned a facility offering high quality both indoor and outdoor patient services. At the time, Prof. Akhter was practicing and teaching reproductive medicine in Canada. Upon returning to Pakistan, he became Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Medical College, Lahore. In honor of his father's vision, Prof. Akhter established a 15-bed tertiary care hospital with specialized departments in Gynaecology, Neonatology, Anaesthesiology, Urology, ENT, General Surgery & Endocrinology. Plans are also underway to introduce advanced fertility treatments, including IVF, at Salim Murad Hospital. Salim Murad Hospital has since grown into one of Lahore’s most reputable healthcare provider known for its modern infrastructure, patient-centered approach, high standards of hygiene and safety following infection control protocols. The facility features state-of-the-art diagnostic services, fully equipped operating theaters, and dedicated sterilization rooms.
